PTA Board Positions Open for 2021-2022
Hello Roosevelt,
It seems like every letter that we send talks about how the last couple years have been unique at best. Starting the 2019-2020 school year with construction and the continued challenge of Covid-19 over this and last year, a lot of things have been cancelled or had to change accordingly. The one thing that has not changed and can never be cancelled is the amazing community that makes up our Roosevelt family. It can not be stressed enough how with every ask, the students, families, and staff rise to the challenge and surpass any goal.

In keeping with this fashion, we have another ask of five persons who can spare a couple hours each month to help continue our beloved Roosevelt events. Our run as the current PTA Board is coming to a close with the end of this school year. It has been fun, rewarding, and definitely an interesting couple years, but we feel proud that we can leave knowing we have hopefully made it better for the new PTA Board and the continuation of past successes to future successes.

We will be able to help guide you through the day-to-day activities and requirements as a Board member. We have done our best, over the past couple years, to streamline everything to decrease the time involvement, and just make things a bit simpler. We will also be just a phone call, text, or email away to lend a helping hand, as the past Board did for us.

Being a member of the PTA Board is a great way to see just how special the Roosevelt family truly is. If you have any interest or questions, please reach out to us. If you are already involved and want to give a little more time, please reach out. If you want to find a way to get involved and evenings are your only option, please reach out. If you have any inkling of a thought to help, please reach out. You will be happy that you did.

Your current and very appreciative PTA Board

Cold Weather Clothing Need
Roosevelt is in need of new/used snow pants, winter/waterproof gloves, and boots in all sizes. As you go through your winter gear and encounter clearance sales as the season continues and weather eventually warms, please consider sending your outgrown and unneeded items to Roosevelt to be distributed to students in need. Thank you!

Roosevelt Mask Drive
Hello wonderful Roosevelt parents! Thank you for all of your support this year in providing the school with masks. They have been so helpful! As students have returned to 5 day instruction, the mask supply has once again dwindled. If you happen to have a few spare masks hanging around or if you would be able to pick up some when you are out and about shopping, I will gratefully collect them for the school. Any masks would be appreciated, but smaller sizes and gender neutral colors/patterns are needed most. I can also accept Venmo donations once again @Elizabeth-R-Jablonski. All donations will be used to purchase masks for the school. Thank you again in advance for your generosity.

Roosevelt Food Pantry: Give what you can & take what you need
THANK YOU to everyone checking the pantry and keeping it stocked! A quick note on what items seem to be in highest demand lately: food where you can add water and you have a meal! Think mac n cheese where the cheese packet is all ready (no need for butter or milk), pouches of soup (Bear Creek has some great options…add boiling water and you have 8 servings!), Dinty Moore/Hormel heat and eat (they have them in plastic dishes all ready to go), hearty breakfast/granola bars, cups of ramen and chili, yummy rice or potato mixes where the spices are all in there…just add water. Protein is always welcome (packs of tuna) and thanks to a lovely donor who is helping us keep shelf-stable beef sticks in there, as well. Because the temps are still all over the place we are still avoiding glass, plastic, and cans. But hope for better weather is on the horizon!
Give what you can and TAKE what you need! Suggestions are always welcome here. (sarajaneluke@gmail.com)

ADOPT-THE-PANTRY: To ensure we can keep the pantry safe and stocked, we are asking for volunteers to sign up to adopt the pantry for one week (or more). During your week, we ask that you pick a day to:

  • Check the inventory
  • Discard any perishable, damaged or expired items
  • Contact Sara Luke (sarajaneluke@gmail.com) with any items that seem low (starches, breakfast, protein, meals, etc) and we will use donated funds/food to keep it stocked
  • (If it’s in your budget that week) Replenish the pantry.

We will post a list of suggested/safe items inside the door of the pantry for those checking and donating. Thanks in advance for signing up!

DONATE TODAY: And of course we’ll always welcome your contribution so we can shop and keep the pantry stocked. Donate HERE Roosevelt Food Pantry | MemberHub

5th Grade Promotion Fundraiser
The Roosevelt 5th graders will be moving up to Longfellow soon and even though we don’t know what the 5th grade promotion will look like, we want to make sure they are celebrated. Since the class cannot do their usual in person fundraisers, such as bake sales they have decided to do a silent auction with lots of great items to bid on. Auction goes live TODAY and all proceeds benefit our 5th grade. Take a peek at the auction items and place some bids!

Roosevelt Food Pantry
Thank you to everyone who has helped keep our pantry stocked! Let’s continue to be a community that takes care of each other.

We love your food donations to the pantry! We are no longer accepting canned or glass items as these pose a food safety risk. See the attached list below for items that can be safely donated during the winter months.

  • (If it’s in your budget that week) Replenish the pantry

We will post a list of suggested/safe items inside the door of the pantry for those checking and donating. You can also view this list here. Thanks in advance for signing up!

DONATE TODAY: And of course we’ll always welcome your contribution so we can shop and keep the pantry stocked. Donate HERE.

Thank you for improving our little piece of the world!
