Kidz Jam
Calling all families, kids and superhero fans! The Wauwatosa East Orchestra is putting on our very first Kidz Jam event and concert, with the first theme being superheroes! All are welcome to attend, as this event is free and open to the public.
Kidz Jam will take place at Wauwatosa East High School on Sunday, October 23rd starting at 1pm, and the Symphony Orchestra will be performing a concert of all your favorite superhero music at 2:15.
Besides featuring a live orchestra performance accompanied by a student-written skit, the Kidz Jam event will also include arts and crafts such as coloring sheets and shrinky drinks, as well as complimentary refreshments and a packaged snack. We will also have an instrument petting zoo for kids to experiment with all different kinds of instruments!

Walk to School Day – Wednesday, October 5th
Walking to school promotes physical activity, teaches safe pedestrian skills to children, protects the environment, reduces traffic congestion, and builds community. Please consider joining us in walking to school on Wednesday, October 5th! We will be celebrating by creating a walking school bus for the morning walk to school! Choose a location in the sign-up genius nearest to your home and meet at the time listed on October 5th. If you don’t live near one of the stops, please consider parking your car a few blocks from school and joining our walking school bus.
Please sign up below to join in the fun, meet other families, greet our guest crossing guards, and walk with friends!

FUN RUN Volunteers for Friday, October 7th!
To make the Fun Run a success – we need you!
Please sign up to help with tracking laps for 2-4 students, set up refreshments, or check-in volunteers. Feel free to volunteer for as many class times as you want but in order to be guaranteed to be paired with your student(s), please sign up by Monday, Oct. 3. Thank you!
Classroom Funds
Just like last year, the room parent coordinators are taking on the role of collecting money from parents for class funds. This general fund will then be evenly distributed among each class, and used throughout the year for teacher appreciation. This will make the process much easier for all of the classroom coordinator volunteers, and for you to say thanks to our teachers throughout the year.
Generally, the suggested donation is $10-$30 per student, but please donate what you are comfortable with. Funds can be sent electronically to the room parent coordinators via:
Venmo: @meganjoyo
PayPal: mjmcchain@gmail.com
The goal is to have all of these funds collected by October 5. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the room parent coordinators. Thanks for helping to make this Roosevelt community so great!
