Teacher Appreciation Week and Flip Grid Link
Thank you for all of the work you have done to show your love for the Roosevelt community and teachers and staff. Please continue to decorate front yards, windows, and porches! It has been visually amazing and touching to see how so many homes in the neighborhood are impacted by Roosevelt and our fantastic staff. Unfortunately, we are unable to have a teacher parade, but many of our teachers live in the neighborhood and many drive through. So keep those signs up to show your love! And if you haven’t recorded your Flip Grid video, please do so by following the link:

Food Pantry Challenge: Goal Reached!
The Wauwatosa PTA Board challenged us to raise $250 and you rose to the challenge! We raised $650 and therefore we received the $250 match! Thank you for your generosity!!!
A humongous thank you to anyone who has donated money or food items to the food pantry. A gentle reminder: the food pantry cannot accept expired, open, or perishable items. This includes bread, which is both perishable and can be opened and tampered with. Over the past few weeks we have had to throw donated items away. We LOVE the generous spirits, but it’s heartbreaking for us to throw food out. Thank you for understanding. Non-perishable food items in high demand include: applesauce, ready-to-eat meals & snacks (soup, canned ravioli/pasta, granola bars, chips, etc.), high-protein items (canned chicken, tuna, and peanut butter), and hygiene products (toilet paper, deodorant, oral hygiene products, soap, shampoo, and conditioner).
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
You may also donate online through this link. Thank you again for any past, current, and future donations. Stay safe, be kind, and check in on one another,

Summer School is ONLINE
Believe it or not, summer is right around the corner! This year, we’re excited to offer a variety of online summer school classes specifically designed to engage students and continue the momentum created during the 2019-20 school year.
Our summer courses are structured to encourage students to participate in real-time, while also providing resources and fun activities to complete whenever time allows. Courses will incorporate a daily focus on content skills such as grade-level reading and math as well as:
- Daily course-specific lessons that students can complete with an appropriate level of independence. Many lessons will include activities that students can do away from the computer to give them a tech break!
- Daily supplemental activities that students can complete with their families.
- Weekly Zoom class meetings, which will be recorded for students unable to attend.
- K4, K5, 1st and 2nd Grade Experiences courses will also incorporate a weekly Zoom meeting with our social worker for whole-class wellness and social emotional lessons.
- Weekly pre-recorded lessons, read alouds and more for students to watch when time allows.
Course specific materials needed for classes will be available for families to pick up at designated locations. Information for classes, including these locations, will be provided to families the week before summer school begins!
By registering for summer online courses, your child will have access to fun resources and activities that can be used when your family’s schedule allows. Courses are accessible any time of day to meet your family’s individual needs.
