DI Fundraiser
The challenge: Bring in your change (dollar bills accepted, too!) from May 1-5, and the top three classes that raise the most will get to tape a brave Roosevelt staff member to the wall later in May. You can also donate via Venmo (@Katie-Ost-2) — just note which class should get credit. The school will vote on who gets stuck to the wall: Mr. Krygiel, Mr. Weinfurter, or Mrs. Rush.

The proceeds will support the Roosevelt DI team that is competing at DI Globals in Kansas City. Good luck!

5th-Grade Fundraiser
Support our 5th-grade class with a fundraiser at Gathering Place’s Taproom (7208 North Ave) from 4-10pm on Wednesday May 10th. 20% of drink sales will be donated back to Roosevelt Elementary for the 5th-grade promotion and class gift. Customers are welcomed to order food from local restaurants and enjoy dinner in the taproom. Questions? Contact Dave Celata at celata@gmail.com.

5th-Grade Parents: While it’s crazy to think they’re already heading to middle school, let’s go out in style with a gathering for parents to celebrate a legendary run at Roosevelt! We will be hanging out that night from 6-8 pm. Hope to see you there!

Bike to School Day
Roosevelt will be participating in Bike to School Day on Thursday, May 4th! Roosevelt students are encouraged to ride their bikes to school and join in a celebration near the playground immediately after school. There will be helmet fit checks, bike decoration stations, and other fun activities. If you are able to help with the event please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E0549A4AE28A1F94-bike

Biking to school is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise. Be sure to discuss these safety tips with your children:

  • Always wear a helmet
  • Ride on the right side of the road, use appropriate hand signals, and obey traffic signals
  • Use lights or reflectors to stay visible to drivers
  • Parents should supervise children until they are responsible enough to ride alone
Students riding bikes to school should park them at one of the four bike racks. There are two bike racks on the west side of the building and two on the north side of the playground. Students are advised to put a lock on their bikes, as bikes are exposed to the entire community.
